Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Supervises the daily operational activities of operations staff. Monitors processes to ensure departmental goals are within acceptable standards. Monitors performance, administers disciplinary counseling and makes recommendations consistent with CCHS East Region approved policies and procedures.   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

• Associates Degree in Health Information Management with successful completion of the American Health Information Management credentialing examination is required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of PC applications including Windows.
• Knowledge of HBOC & 3M system preferred.
• Must be able to process information in a logical way to solve daily operational problems with little or no direction from manager.
• Knowledge of teaching methods and ability to train others.
• Demonstrated operational knowledge.

Required Length and Type of Experience

• Minimum of two years of recent supervisory experience, preferably in a HIS Department.

Required Licensure or Certification

• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification is required.
