Job Description

A Grand Rapids Financial Institution is searching for an Underwriter on a temp to hire basis. The salary range will depend on experience. The ideal range will be $36-46,000 annually on the permanent basis. Qualified individuals may apply directly (see below) Job Duties Include:

• Underwrite all conventional loans for the secondary market and for bank portfolio
• Research new products and guidelines as defined by multiple investors
• Support lenders and makes recommendations when appropriate
• Act as the liaison between lenders and investors; audit loans to monitor compliance
• Assist other team members with projects as needed

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills as well proficiency using automated systems. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in the mortgage industry. Candidates must have 2+ years of experience in convention and governmental underwriting (FHA or DE); 2+ years in rural development and MSHDA underwriting experience is a plus.
